Polish Week 1
Greetings
This week we started the polish sprint to make everything look nice and clean. On the programmer side we tried a kinematic movement system to see if this was better. After some testing we decided we like the PhysX-based movement better. This week we also added a particle to every molehill for the environmental hazard aswell as DANCING TREES.
Polish, polish, polish!
Artwise this is no different.
This week the artist did both big and little changes.
First of all, he had to fix certain particles. They were barely visible and needed an upgrade.
These are the molehills, the rain, the giant bomb fuse, stars when a player gets stunned and some wind
for the main menu.
The blizzard tiles got a massive upgrade. Instead of just overlaying some white, he created multiple
ice textures that are overlayed on the grass texture. This gives more detail and a nicer look during
the blizzard.
There were also some big changes this week. The boxing glove animation got reworked. The boxing glove
acts as a cuckoo clock, where the glove comes out of a little door.
Finally and most importantly, the UI is being redesigned. It didn't fit with the game at all, so
the artist went back to the drawing board to do some more research.
It's just a matter of time before all the of the user interface got its new look.
Next week we plan on updating the UI and the animations the artist made.
